Admittedly, it's been a while ......Since I actually took the time to sit down and write my gratitude list (One which should be composed mentally EVERYday) So when I found myself brooding in the dark last night while sprawled across my bed, thinking dark thoughts like "Gee...I just lost my boyfriend...I'm such an ass....I'll never amount to anything...I'm such a loser...That's it, I need...Hey,where's my knife?...Oh great....now I've lost my knife too..."
It was a wake up call for me.
Hey Claire, you think your life SUCKS? Yeah well I've got NEWS for you bub. People around the world are SUFFERING way worse than you. NINE percent are DISABLED, FORTY THREE percent live without basic sanitation. EIGHT-EFFING-TEEN percent live without AN IMPROVED WATER SOURCE...and THIRTEEN percent are HUNGRY OR MALNOURISHED. And you're thinking about BOYS???
I just ate at Pizza Hut.
My Gratitude List.
1. I have a chair to sit upon.
I cannot stress upon this fact enough. Without my chair, not only will there be global catastrophe, but my butt will also be cold. One point to remember: A cold butt is an unhappy butt. But besides that, my chair is also the one thing keeping me from sprouting back problems when i age.
And more importantly, whenever I have to type, I'm at the optimum height to do so, as opposed to having my butt sticking out while bending down (A risky position for pregnant women and people who own crazy evil half zombie sisters)
2. I have the friends that I have
Without friends where will we be? Pretty miserable thats for sure. Ergo I feel obliged to thank what ever greater power there is out there, that I've managed to come into contact with the people that I have. Especially at this dark, knife-less hour (May she rest in peace)
I'm grateful for the people who pat my shoulder and say "Mmm hmmm....yeahhh", people who show me the left brained side of things and reel back my objective line of thought (Which is pretty hard to hold on to when one is drunk with love. Just an opinion) People who take their time to chat with me, discussing certain hard pressed zombie issues and survival techniques. People like Resha, Meidelynn and Jemima who are always there for me. Heck, just today, I got a new follower - what a great way to start my day. Thanks Anna and Tasha!
3. The world hasn't collapsed into damnation yet
The greatest gift in life is time. And now we have time (albeit not necessarily ample amounts of) to either save the planet for our future generations, or drink soda, watching as the world crumbles into damnation and placing bets on which country goes first. (If the movies we watch can be counted on, then I'm guessing it's USA.) When i was young, I used to watch America's funniest home videos and the geniuses who thought that it'd be a great idea to jump out their window onto a trampoline placed on top of a frozen pool. Someone should hand these kids a Nobel Prize.
Anyhoo, I watched them yelling and laughing in pain and thought to myself: Thank god thats not me. Similarly, I'm watching 2012 and thinking:Holy cow thank god thats not me. I could be trapped under a burning car right now, I could be starving to death in an underground tunnel right now, I could even be attending a Justin Bieber concert right now...but I'm not.
And for that I'm thankful. Now do me a favor and PLEASE watch this...

Love this post! Gratitude is a great antidote for depression (which is caused mainly by self pity)! It's also one of the keys to TRUE happiness :)... I sure thankful I was born a woman in America! We are truly blessed!
OMg thanks a bunch Anna XD (Now what a wonderful way to end the day)
You are absolutely right with that. Facts is, I couldn't have said it any better...And being in Malaysia, some times I get so caught up with the terrible politics that I never appreciate what a beautiful country it really is XD
making gratitude lists are great! :D it's like we don't have to wait till thanksgiving to be grateful right? haha
and awwww, i feel so thankful that i'm on the list!
and, I wanna thank you for being MY FRIEND <3 too! see,u've been such a GREAT friend! for example, u're the one that sparkled my love for "writing"! :D *although I don't really write much. XD* and you're the one who saved our choral speaking team! CLARISSA RULES!! xD
Yes Malaysia looks like a beautiful country, maybe one day I'll visit to see for myself :)... Although I'm sorry to hear about the politics (I'll take your word on it since I'm not the one living there). It's a good thing that Kingdoms rise and fall!... So here's to a brighter future, and a reformed Government!
@Meidelyn: Omg it's hard to believe the I actually inspired you...I feel like I someone told me I tutored Michaelangelo XD Okay, not exactly in context but you get it XD And when I say I like your poems...I seriously mean it. 'Specially the last one'
@Anna: Cheers to that, fo sure XD And I guess we just have to accept that everything has it's pro and cons...Anyway, thanks for commenting again...not many people do that
